WebbA wireless access point (WAP) works by connecting to your router via an Ethernet cable; this provides it with the Internet connection and bandwidth it needs to function. It will then transmit and receive a wireless signal on either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequency bands. WebbFirst, link your ISP modem and wireless router together. Configure the router. Then connect an UTP cable on any of the LAN ports of your router and link it to the Wireless Access Point. After that configure the wireless access point and you are good to go. Pros No hassle of cables. Do not need to drill the walls for hiding the cables.
