Webugh i had this on one of my fingernails. i split my nail and afterwards it grew with a faint line where the split had been, and would very frequently split along that line (then the nail would get caught on things and it was really painful) . i read online I'd have to have the whole nail removed to fix it but it went away on its own after awhile (maybe 7 years? lol) WebMelanocytes typically lie dormant in the proximal nail matrix where the nail originates.
